VISUALIZATION
Aching to reach you
I watch concrete structures
in which you live
You exist in every particle
I visualize your picture
or signature on every brick
Those who died for love are extinct
I see commoditization of souls
hearts on sale in marketplaces
Sleep eluded you
I see shadows of the night
in your reddened eyes
Inflict one more wound
I’m a fan of your talent
in causing heartbreaks

Hi Reena, wonderful poem by Kumar Vishwas, and equally masterly translation… I am wondering if Vishwas would have used an equivalent of ‘Tabloid’ in his original, if an equivalent word existed in Hindi….
Thanks for sharing…

‘Newspaper’ is too staid for a poem and has multiple implications. Hence, I changed the word.
Kumar Vishwas is moving from ‘woh pagli ladki’ to political overtones …. maturing of a poet and a reflection of his experience.
