English translation –
I enjoyed – being taken for a ride
building castles in the air
I was busy – telling tales of love
-you smiled indulgently
but remained aloof.
I continued – lighting lamps of hope
‘coz, whenever the need arose
you swore on our friendship.
I’d rather remain besotted
You carry on seducing me …

Thanks Reena. It never ceases to fascinate me how words sound so different in different languages. Your translation is as close as it can get to the meaning of original piece, yet the two pieces still sound different.

I guess it has got to do with two different people writing it. Try translating it yourself and you will know the difference. In this particular case, the structure has been changed – couplets to stanzas.
