English translation
Clouds of misery still hover in the sky
Yet, I see rays of hope cutting through
guess how intense is my thirst
rivers – a tiny drop seeping through…
my throat … breath hurts, life’s a sore
Time, the doctor, heals no more
who listens to melancholic songs
busy with their lives, counting scores
I don’t look like me any more
Mirrors, disappear! You can’t see my core…

Thanks Reena, for a wonderful translation as always… I am always fascinated by the metaphorical use of “mirrors” in poems… so, was excited to use it in my piece this time…

Mirrors are depicted as prisons which house humans and spirits, in fairy tales. I’m always tempted to look behind mirrors 😀
